I am embarking on a trip today, a 'there-and-back' jaunt, same day service to back east. I was puttering around earlier trying to wrap up the last minute loose ends. I had to remind myself that I wasn't packing any clothes or travel gear...

...except I made sure I had a notebook and a camera.

I feel like I can't go on any travel anymore without one or both of those things. I feel something is missing if I don't have either with me. Will I use them? I don't know. But I'd rather have them and not need them, than need them and not have them. You know that is, don't you? Don't you?

  1. Always have my little notebook, and most of the time my camera--though still get caught without it because who knew I would see something wonderful while driving to the grocery store?? I should know by now...

Hope you had a good jaunt (and isn't that a great word for a little adventure??)

  2. Can't leave home without 'em....

I was reading something a couple of weeks ago about how we've lost the concept of "a weekend off," because we're "on" all the time: online, on the phone, always contactable and putting it out there instead of shutting it down and walking away. I don't know many who do, just shut it down and walk away...maybe we should try it sometime.

Though we'd possibly all go nuts and start drinking....

    1. Sometimes I am shocked at how "exposed" I feel when I forget my notebooks or leave the camera at home. It unsettles me and amuses me simultaneously. Ah, I am Linus, looking for a blanket...

  3. I never go anywhere without my camera. If I forget it, I use the one on my mobile phone. I adore taking photos of where I am, irreplaceable moments in time. It drives my husband and mother nuts but i want to capture all the beauty and memories of life for the future.

    1. I understand! There is the feeling of catching out own slice of infinity, and memories to go along!
