rain falls outside on greening grass
birds chatter and the sound,
a dreich counterpoint to human song
that claims "I'm a million
different people,
from one day to the next"
heard it all before
still split of mind
as to that million:
afraid I'm infinity plus one
This is becoming my morning habit .. a lovely way to start the day.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed my visit with you today.
ReplyDeletePlenty of verve in this one Irish..
ReplyDelete:-)
ReplyDeleteLove it.
ReplyDeleteSo now the trick is to see what comes beyond infinity.
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome, I am loving the idea of the infinite being finite.
ReplyDeleteinfinity plus one...
ReplyDeletevery nice
This is a smooth, lovely poem. The last line is a kicker. Perfection.
ReplyDeletePS: Your labels are a subtext of every post. They say as much as your posts do.
I love it...and you've made me consult my dictionary. Again.
ReplyDeleteas Janie points out, nice use of a word no one has ever heard of before. Tell me, did you KNOW that word in advance, or did you open the archaic dictionary, pick a word and then write around it?? I do that sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI came back, not necessarily to annoy you, but....
ReplyDeletewhat's dreich? :)
and thank GOD you've finally changed your 'post a comment' text :)))
ReplyDeleteI would consult my dictionary, but that would make me feel stupid. So instead I'm just going to chew the end of my biro.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, Irish! You ARE one in a million! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat writing!
ReplyDeleteI am an army of one. Huh?
