Nine Billion and One

God
Elohim
Yahweh
Allah
Vishnu
Jehovah
Khuda
Waheguru
Bahá

Then I gave up.
The names of God?
Far too many
to know every one
but I grow weary
of everyones' claims
to have the water of truth

Foolish, they are,
these clamoring voices
raucous rivers believing
themselves flowing
to completely separate seas
I bid them, Silence!
To hear, to taste, a singular ocean

  1. As Gods children, we have the innate ability to hear both love and truth. Its a gift that binds us to our Father and ensures that whenever He chooses to speak, we always have the choice to hear him.

  2. A single voice would mean an "answer" and answers are good. But since when have we human beings ever had a single voice on anything? In fact, when have we as individual humans ever spoken with a single voice on an issue for our whole existence? I understand the need behind what you write but you must find your answer...the key word being "your".

  3. Is utter silence better than a cacophony of clamouring voices?

Speaking of "The Force", it made me laugh to see "Jedi" as an option on the national census here. Just for laughs, Mark checked that one before he died and will now forever be Jedi.

  4. I call it all cosmic energy. I think each of us has a concept of what God is. It is personal.
