Word Up...Your A$$

Those wise pop prophets of the '80's, Missing Persons, posed the eternal question:

"What are words for, when no one listens anymore..."

But what I want to know, is why even when we try to listen, words can still screw us up? How can something that appears to be so rational and precise be the cause of so much confusion and heartache and general mayhem?

Thoughts, anyone?

  3. Often it's not the words that are said but the person who says them....

i.e. if you like the person they can say anything to you with out causing hurt. If you don't like them they can say they love you it will make you hate them even more.

Welcome to the human race...No matter how fast you run one day you will end up dead last...but before that happens you might as well enjoy the ride.

  5. I rarely talk to people over three feet tall. We communicate on more simple terms - yes, no, and stop it stop it or mommy's head is going to explode.

  7. When I saw your blog title, this is what immediately popped into my head:

    Words

Smile an everlasting smile, a smile can bring you near to me.
Don't ever let me find you down, cause that would bring a tear to me.
This world has lost its glory, let's start a brand new story now, my love.
Right now, there'll be no other time and I can show you how, my love.

Talk in everlasting words, and dedicate them all to me.
And I will give you all my life, I'm here if you should call to me.
You think that I don't even mean a single word I say.
It's only words, and words are all I have, to take your heart away.

  9. because we dont say what we mean and/or mean what we say with consistency
and so, words get cheap, and things get assumed we've bastardized the spoken word

  11. actions speak louder and more specifically than words for the most part, but in general, people are lazy...and words are easier...so much easier to forward on an email of protest or warning, than to actually do something, or god forbid, write your OWN story of outrage. I hate wasting words, even though there are infinite choices, sometimes I feel they should be more carefully rationed.....

  14. Because you think I heard what you said, I heard what I think you said, but you said is not what I heard.
